Light Meditation

What does the Light symbolize?

I will give a basic description below but I’d recommend reading the book ‘unveiled mysteries‘ by Godfrey Ray King.
The Light meditation is passed on to the writer of that book by st.Germain.

The Light represents your Inner God Self, your Higher Self if you will. The reason the meditation focuses on the heart area is because that’s where the energetic link is made between your physical\energetic body and your Higher Self as is depicted in the image below.

Staying aware of your heart center equates to staying aware of the permanent link between you and your Divine aspect. As you are an aspect of your Higher Self and the Higher Self is an aspect of God\All that Is\the Tao , these parts are all separate and one at the same time.

An important property of the Light is it’s creative power that needs to be consciously directed from a place of love. We are creators and should take responsibility for our creations. Consider this excerpt from the book:

“The mass of mankind is in exactly this state of consciousness today—and will continue in it—until they accept the God within their hearts as—the OwnerGiver—and Doer— of all the Good—that has ever come into their lives and world. The personal self of every individual must acknowledge completely and unconditionally that the human or outer activity of consciousness—has absolutely— nothing—of its own. Even the energy—by which one recognizes the Great God Within— is radiated into the personal self—by the Great God Self. Love and praise—of That Great Self Within—and the attention maintained focused upon Truth—health—freedom—peace— or any other thing that you may desire for a right use—persistently held in your conscious thought and feeling—will bring them into your use and world—as surely as there is a Great Law of Magnetic Attraction in the Universe. The Eternal Law of Life is that—’Whatever you think and feel you bring into form; where your thought is there you are—for you are your consciousness; and whatever you meditate upon—you become.’ When one allows his mind to dwell upon thoughts of hate—condemnation—lust— envy—jealousy—criticism—fear doubt—or suspicion — and allows these feelings of irritation to generate within him—he will certainly have discord, failure and disaster in his mind, body and world. As long as he persists in allowing his attention to be held by such thoughts—whether they be about nations—persons—places—conditions—or things—he is absorbing those activities into the substance of his mind, his body, and his affairs—in fact he is forcing— compelling them into his experience.

From this it is clear that we need to learn to use this power within us consciously and from a place of love. The first step in learning this would be to always be aware it is there, which is an important function of this meditation.

For me, the Light represents my true identity. Not that I don’t identify with my personality or body, but I try to move to the Light, my Essence or Soul. Each time I am proud of something ‘I’ did, I thank the Light. When I find myself wallowing in dark emotions, I move my attention to the Light. Whenever a strong desire dominates my mind, I shift attention and choose the Light in my chest because I know that true lasting happiness is not to be found in anything outside me. The Light represents unconditional love, creative power and healing force. St.Germain also calls it the Christ consciousness.

So how does this meditation work?

It starts with a short period of silence to get settled and relaxed. One can use any method. A good way is to breathe into the belly and keep the attention with the rising and falling of the abdomen. Put a slight smile on your face and keep it there. In the second phase we move the attention to the heart area where we picture a radiant golden sun, representing the connection to the Divine self. We imagine our body surrounded by bright white light. We keep this vision before our mind’s eye as vividly as we can and focus on it for a few minutes. In the third phase we acknowledge our Divine inner self by saying ‘I now joyously accept the fullness of the mighty God presence, the pure Christ’ and let the bright white light flood our body while staying aware of the radiant golden sun in our heart. We keep this image before our mind’s eye and intensify the light as much as we can. After a period of silence there are a few affirmations and the meditation is done. Below I will post two versions; a shorter 10-minute one and a 20-minute one.

In the beginning this meditation may feel insincere or even fake, but it is important to do this regularly in order to get momentum, because in the beginning it will take some effort to maintain the visuals in the head at the cost of focus. As it becomes easier to visualize the scene, focus increases and the power of the meditation will begin to manifest.
